“Left to die” Su-152-t ARV 1:35

Just like always: first the kits used, then the story behind the model

Su 152 Late – Trumpeter 05568 scalemates

Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. D/E Fahrgestell – Trumpeter 00362 scalemates

and your usual bits and pieces

Story

The construction of this model started more than 2 years ago, but was never finished simply because of a lack of interest. Back then I was not really a skilled builder in any considerable away. Thus, there are some very considerable faults visible.

But I wanted to finally get this one done, so I decided to let them be faults of the past and move on. The only modifications I did was to swap out the main armament for the crane from the German Munitionsträger, thus turning it into an arv. This is certainly not historically correct, but it was a trade-off I was willing to make for an interesting final product. And in my humble opinion the result does look quite convincing. The hull of the Munitionsträger will later be reused, but more on that in ist own article.

This particular diorama is set in early autumn
Here the crane assembly can be seen in detail

I always like to add small dioramas within the diorama, in this case it even inspired its name.

Poor Hans

I originally planned to add a figure to this diorama, but in the end the cold German weather caused my hand to be unstable. I will add “Peter” later and give him his own article, so watch out for that.

And last the beaty-shots

Review

In all honesty I am not really able to tell much here, since it was such a complicated and weird project, but both kits are nice, if that was the question why you came here, otherwise, just let us pray that the next projects won’t take 3 years to complete.

Any of you have an opinion? I would be very happy about a comment. Otherwise you can also contact me here, in case you don’t want it to be published.
