“The one to terrify them all” Zis-30 1:35

A little vignette for the zis-30 soviet tank destroyer. Even though it certainly was a very relaxing and easy project the limitations were very big, barely any grime and grease, no stowage that seemed appropiate and so on. For some no big deal, but it really confused me. Thus I would classify it as a rather excessive training.

But, first of: the materials used here, so you can give it your own interpretation

Zis-30 – Hobbyboss scalemates

An offcut piece of wood from your good woodworking friend (thanks Tim :D)

And thats all, not even the „bits-and-pieces“ box was used here.

Story

Not really too much to tell here either, I was so lucky to recieve this kit as a Christmas gift from my grandfather this year and since there are no major possibilities to modify it (atleast to my liking), I decided to see, wether I was able to complete it within 4 weeks. In the end it worked out and it was a great training which lead to some decisions that considerably increased efficiency.

Otherwise there is not much to tell here, just a nice build using all of your standard techniques. Still I think it helped me quiet a bit, since the time limit I had set for myself ledr to do some experiments and to find some efficient solutions, some of which I will continue using in my future builds.

One short word about the title. It is a reference to the online video game warthunder. In the game the zis-30 is often used against vehicles that outperform it by far, but is still able to keep up because of ist powerfull gun and small size.

Review

The kit was great and is by far underappreciated, the only real downside is the limited possibility for personalization. But one big plus is the great compatability for figures to really show how small the tank was. I did not include them here, since I have very little experience there and want to train first, bevor putting them on any model.

Any of you have an opinion? I would be very happy about a comment. Otherwise you can also contact me here, in case you don’t want it to be published.

      Hi,
not to this particular model, since it is a simple out-of-box build, but I intend to publish a detailed article on this basic procedure soon. Hope this will help.
      Have a great day.
