WIP E-60 Kanonen Jagdpanzer KJPZ 1:35

Well, I thought “how about another what if tank, haven’t done one in quite some time, if we were to ignore the su-152-t

So, something nice and easy, that much about that…

Material

E-60 KJPZ – Modelcollect UA35018 scalemates

12,8cm Pak 44 – Aber #48L29

Kingtiger tracks, workable – Meng SPS038

usual bits and pieces

The Story

So, the initial idea was a relatively simple build of an what if tank, the first idea was a flakpanther 8,8cm, which was seen for some time also on my planned projects page, yet this idea was quickly rejected after seeing the build from coldemonspl on his e-60kjpz and I have to say it truly was an absolutely gorgeous model, great respect to him. But now I wanted my own version. So the project started: The basic kit was gathered from a model shop.

The Build

The first thing to disappear from the box were the atrocious tracks, being replaced by the ones from meng I got second hand at a good price. Otherwise I would have used friul or something similar. Those would be the better choice. Also the gun and gun mantlet were replaced as they were completely out of scale. For the side skirts I opted for a different approach to his model. His version felt inspired by a stug-3g which is a sensible decision and looks great, but I preferred the skirts from either a panther or a pzkpfw 4 ausf. J to be plausible for the time, thus I chose a combination of both. Those were either scratch build or reused from another kit. The rest was your usual stuff: weld seems from greenstuff, armour textures, stowage, tools, hooks, all that stuff.

Upper and lower hull are kept seperate (explaining the gap), tracks, towingcable, sideskirts and stowage removable. The wheels and the gunmantlet had to be glued in place, since they were so fragile

Post Build

In the end I have to say this about the kit: It works, nothing more, nothing less. The fit is good, but the details are truly lacklustre, but if you want to build a big e-series Jagdpanzer you currently do not have any other choice below 100€ total.

Fit: 4/5
Details: 1/5
Accuracy: 2/5
Fun: 5/5 – if you like to make a model your model

Any of you have an opinion or a concrete idea for the paintjob? I would be very happy about a comment. Otherwise you can also contact me here, in case you don’t want it to be published.

You could certainly see your enthusiasm in the paintings you write. The sector hopes for even more passionate writers such as you who aren’t afraid to say how they believe. All the time go after your heart. “History is the version of past events that people have decided to agree upon.” by Napoleon.

      Hi graliontorile,
thank you very much for the kind words and the nice quote. I definitely have to agree with you here, we need more like this, but better than me, i am still far from the best,
hope you have a good day

This design is wicked! You obviously know how to keep a reader entertained. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Fantastic job. I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!
